Why should I actually proceed with traveling when I've got here all I was looking for (ok, except my dear friends who are back home)? How did I actually find this place? Sandra and Oliver borrowed me some ten music CDs in Aqaba and I forgot to give them back. As they were staying in Dahab I passed by in the middle of the night after disembarking off the ferry. When I got up in the morning (10 o'clock?), I found myself in the middle of something similar to paradise. Hot sun, warm weather, easy sea-side breakfast, including some delicious fresh squeezed juices, while listening to relaxing oriental music from the restaurant speakers.
In the afternoon all three of us went out with horses for a three-hour trip accompanied by a great person, Haytham, a real horse-lover. Imagine a sunset gallop along the sand-beach while listening Dahab's muezzin call to prayer and then crossing the entire lagoon on horseback. You'll have to imagine that because I smartly ran out of batteries in the camera just before I wanted to take some great shots, while Oliver made a much worse job by dropping his camera into the water :-((( when we wanted to take exactly those sunset photos.
Tomorrow we start with a scuba-diving course, thing I had in plan for some years now. You'll probably ask yourself: "Has he gone mad, what about his passport that should be shipped from Cairo to Slovenia for Libyan visa?"
Well, here in Dahab we also have solutions for that. The passport is traveling with night bus to Cairo where it'll be picked-up and taken to the embassy where they'll make me an official copy and send the passport to Slovenia.
Here I also have some extremely good hiking and cycling possibilities. And the weather is great!!!
