ENDURO MOTORCYCLING ADVENTURE IN TUNISIA - 8 DAYS

ARRIVAL IN TOZEUR

Please arrive in Tozeur by the evening of this day. We will be lodged in a 4**** hotel with dinner included.

TOZEUR – ONG JMEL - CHEBIKA – TAMERZA – ROMMEL ROAD – EL-HAMMA – TOZEUR

After breakfast, the action begins. Just a few meters from the hotel, we will leave the asphalt and, through a mixture of macadam and soft sand, first drive to the scenery set for the filming of the village of Mos Espa in Star Wars. We continue to the nearby Camel's Head, a natural sand cliff also used during the filming of Star Wars, as well as The English Patient.

A day full of tourist attractions, we continue across the dry salt lake of Chott el-Gharsa to the mountain oasis of Chebika, where we will walk along a creek to some small waterfalls and a natural pool, followed by a short ride on asphalt to another mountain oasis, Tamerza, where we walk to an impressive canyon and have lunch. Over the so-called Rommel Road, built during World War II, we will descend again to the salt lake with beautiful views and return to the hotel in Tozeur through the charming village of el-Hamma.

TOZEUR – DOUZ

We will leave Tozeur and head through the canyons and over the Jebel Askeria to another film location (Indiana Jones and Star Wars) in the canyon next to the Sidi Bouhlel sanctuary. Between the mountains and Africa's largest salt lake, Chott el-Djerid, we will continue our journey to the town of Kebili, and from there across the desert to our next overnight stop. Towards the evening, we arrive in Douz, the so-called "gate of the desert". Dinner and overnight in a 4**** hotel.

DOUZ – JEBIL NATIONAL PARK – TIMBAIN MOUNTAIN

We will leave Douz and head more or less straight across the desert towards the south. The experience of riding in the dunes of the previous day will be very important on this route, as the first part of the day we will mainly overcome low dunes. For lunch, we will meet our assistance truck, which will also supply us with water and gasoline. In the second part of the day, the ride will initially be faster and technically undemanding, but later, the beauty of several dune passes that we will have to overcome to reach a rocky outcrop in the middle of the desert us - the magnificent table mountain Timbain - will positively surprise us. Dinner and overnight in a nearby desert camp.

TIMBAIN – KSAR GHILANE

On this full-day stage, we will travel through flat desert landscape (gravel) over one dune pass, past three Bedouin tents-cafes, to the famous oasis of Ksar Ghilane, known primarily for its thermal water pool surrounded by bars selling beer. After a long desert stage, a plunge into the pool will be more than welcome. On this day, dinner will be again served in a local restaurant. Overnight in a camp near the oasis.

KSAR GHILANE – REST DAY

Rest day by the pool in the oasis. We suggest a trip to the Roman fort, playing with motorbikes in the dunes or a trip with camels or horses. If you wish, you can also go on a longer excursion to the dunes in the south. Dinner and overnight in a camp near the oasis.

KSAR GHILANE – MATMATA

A completely different desert stage awaits us than we are used to, which will take us to the Berber settlement of Matmata, known for its underground dwellings. We will drive along desert gravel roads and tracks that often cross dry torrential river beds. In the last part of the route, an impressive bare, rugged mountainous desert landscape will surround us. Upon arrival in Matmata, we will wrap our tour of the Star Wars filming locations by paying a visit to the Sidi Driss Hotel where Lars homestead was filmed. Dinner and overnight stay in double rooms in a 4**** underground hotel.

MATMATA – DJERBA

According to your flight departure time, we will take you to the airport on Djerba. End of our services.
