I still don't know whom I should invoice - to Mr. Qadhafi or to Confederatio Helvetica. But it's a fact that due to the visa crisis between the Schengen community and Libya my truck was subject to damage, only caused by small and short Tunisian dunes.
When trying to find an adequate desert alternative to Libya for my friends, Karl-Heinz and I pushed our appartments into difficult and small dunes where a record twisting of the chassis took its toll on the shelters of both Magiruses. Thanks God my friend, co-creator of my flat and an excellent welder Robert Milič came to Tunisia on time. Instantly he got his part-time job even without the working-visa.
Collateral damage apart of the two truck-shelters:
Matevž's KTM 625 LC4 SXC out of service due to excessive sand taken into the engine and consecutively excessive oil-consumption (cca. 1dcl / 10 km) and cracked rear hub.
My KTM 640 LC4 Adventure out of service due to supposed short-circuit on the regulator and also somewhere around the alternator.
Robi's Aprilia 450 RXC out of service due to grinded rear alu sprocket. It's got less thatn half the original teeth, so an interesting piece of art has been made.
And the winner of the expedition? For the moment the Kia Sportage that at the beginning was being laughed at, but now it's the only one to safely drive us around everywhere where the side inclination is too expressed for the Desert Mobil. The "two-point" attachment of the shelter was really scary before the temporary partial sanation.
