This time our way home took us not through Malta but Sicily. As our house had to stay put on the ferry during the ten-hour stopover in Palermo, we decided to rent a vehicle and go for a spin to don Vito's. Our search for an old Panda, Vespa or a Piaggio tricycle was in vain. For six hours, we ended up with a fairly new Clio instead.
The snow-capped Sicilian mountains above the north coast, aglow with the morning sun, literally overwhelmed us and we agreed to pop over to Cefalú. An excellent choice, which rewarded us with some good shots and lovely weather.
We land at the Roman harbour of Civitavecchia tomorrow morning and then it's the last leg of our journey back to Slovenia.
The photos do show the latest from Sicily, but we owe you some more sand. We did not exactly "slip" through Tunis either.
