Dubai is ok. You can buy anything here. Only authenticity is a bit harder to find.
It makes you feel good. To be back to civilization in our Western way of perceiving it. But slowly you start understanding all is fake here. Disneyland covering 100 sq km. Las Vegas Arabian style. Despite all this Carmen and I have joined Dane and Goranka last year to fly out into the desert. We only came out this year.
I nearly bought a goatie at the animal market at al-Ain on Omani border. Since Carmen's departer to Egypt is approaching I might need some other company. Finally I decided not to buy her, mainly out of two reasons: 1. Robert and I have spent year and a half making the house the goatie would probably eat in a couple of days. 2. Sooner or later I would leave it with a family that for sure wouldn't see a pet in her.
