To please Sandra (and all of you, of course), I'm putting a new update on the page, although the atmosphere here is so relaxing that you just loose your sense of time. What were we doing through the past few days? Oliver and me successfully completed diving course with our diving instructor Helene and became Open Water Divers. If you're interested in diving in Dahab you should check the fine atmosphere at www.desert-divers.com.
But the best Christmas gift came from Moamer. WE GOT OUR LIBYAN VISAS!!! We know that first one of our travel buddies quit the plans, followed later by another one, so at the end only Peter and I remained. Peter is coming to Egypt at the beginning of next year so we'll explore Egypt first and then try to get to Libya, although of the planned group of five, only we will actually show up at the border. Cross your fingers for us!
However, even if we manage to enter Libya we won't be able to stay there for a long time because the slightly high cost of the obligatory guide from border to border is now going to be shared only by two.
In the opposite case we'll have to return to Egypt somehow and try to ship the car from Alexandria. But once again, cross your fingers that we will enter Libya.
For tomorrow Sandra, Oliver and me are planning to dive (Sandra only to snorkel) the Blue Hole, one of the top diving places around Dahab, then I'm traveling to Sharm esh-Sheikh to pick up my Libyan visa-equipped passport that made a trip back home and is tomorrow coming by Slovenian charter flight back to Egypt. Afterwards… who knows where the stars are going to take me.
